"La Alegría de vivir en el Limbo"

Joy in the Void is a series born from the beaches of Brittany — from that particular quality of northern light that dissolves the boundary between sky, sea and land into a single luminous field.

Medina places perfect, weightless spheres into these open landscapes — forms that float, expand and spin without obeying gravity. They are not decorations. They are the artist's way of introducing presence into absence, colour into melancholy, movement into stillness.

Each work in the series holds two emotional registers simultaneously: the serene and the exuberant, the wistful and the joyful. The landscapes are real — photographed by the artist on the Atlantic coast — and the spheres are real too, constructed from the same skies and waters. What is invented is the encounter between them.
